"George Mason Jun.r being brought before the court to answer sundry misdemeanors tending to a breach of the peace and refusing to be taken by the constable and wounding William Payne Bayliss who was commanded by the officer to assist in taking of him. It is ordered that he give security himself in Forty pounds and two securities each in Twenty pounds for his keeping the peace for a year and a day and for payments of costs and it is further ordered that he enter into recognizance himself in Twenty pounds and two securities each in ten pounds for his appearance at the next Grand Jury court to answer a Bill of Indictment to be preferred against him for wounding William Payne Bayliss in assisting to take him and it is ordered that Hugh West Deputy Attorney for our Sovereign Lord the King prefer a Bill of Indictment against him at the next Grand Jury Court for that offence and it is further ordered that the Sheriff summon a sufficient number of persons to guard the prison until the said George Mason Jun.r give such security as aforesaid he having heretofore attempted to burn the prison and afterwards broke out.
